The exhibition "Italy in Europe – Europe in Italy" was exhibited from 15 to 29 February at the cloister of the Jonic Department of the University of Bari.
The Taranto stage was promoted by the Europe Direct Taranto Centre and Jean Monnet Chair "EU Solidarity in (Times of) Crisis?" (EUSTiC) and is part of the #UsaIlTuoVoto campaign launched by the EU institutions in view of the upcoming European elections on 8-9 June.
The exhibition, realised by the Department for European Affairs in collaboration with the Ansa agency, was presented during a meeting held on Thursday 15 February at the Conference Room (former church) of the Jonico Department with speeches by Paolo Pardolesi, Director of the Jonico Department, Giuseppe Morgese, Head of Cattadra Jean Monnet EUSTiC, Annachiara Stefanucci, Head of Europe Direct Taranto, and Massimo Persotti, Communication Office of the Department for European Affairs.
The press conference was followed by the first guided tour of the exhibition, reserved for students from local schools.
Taranto is the 27th stage of the exhibition cycle since, in March 2017, it was inaugurated on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome.
