The outcome of today's discussions between Minister for European Affairs, Southern Italy, Cohesion Policy and the NRRP Raffaele Fitto and regional presidents was a positive one: meetings were held with eight governors, with discussions helping to take stock of cohesion policies for the 2014-2020 and 2021-2027 programming periods and the NRRP with regard to the individual regions.

The meetings began this morning with the President of the Basilicata Region, Vito Bardi, with the President of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca, with the President of the Lazio Region, Francesco Rocca, with the President of the Emilia Romagna Region, Stefano Bonaccini, and with the President of the Piedmont Region, Alberto Cirio, followed this afternoon by the Presidents of the Abruzzo and Tuscany Regions, respectively Marco Marsilio and Eugenio Giani, and the Vice-President of the Lombardy Region, Marco Alparone.

Minister Fitto expressed his satisfaction: "Excellent appraisal work has been carried out, and there was a fruitful exchange of information with the regional presidents. Thanks to this coming together, we can activate coordination between cohesion policies and the NRRP, as also recommended by the European Commission. This is the only way to improve the efficiency of the investments that are needed to rewrite not only the outlook of individual areas, but that of the whole country too". Meetings will continue with the remaining governors in the coming days.
