The future is in your hands – Let's build tomorrow’s Europe

11 May 2021

The event is organised by the European Parliament in Italy in cooperation with the Department for European Policies, the European Commission Representation, the European Institute of Florence, and the Department for Cohesion Policies.

The event is the first major public debate for and with young people on the "Conference on the Future of Europe". The title "The future is in your hands" recalls the official slogan of the Conference and is intended to underline the importance of the contribution in ideas and proposals from citizens and young people in particular. The event will be included as a citizens' meeting on the citizens' platform on the future of Europe.

As many as 300 students will take part in the event on the Zoom platform. Schools from all over Italy will be invited to follow the live streaming on the "Il Corriere della Sera" website and on the Facebook pages of the Department for European Policies and the European Parliament. The high-school students are selected from among those who are participating in in-depth programmes.

This year's 50 European Parliament Ambassador Schools (EPASs) of this year; OpenCohesion schools (monitoring the use of European funds by getting to know the projects underway); the students in the "Europe = Us" active citizenship programme; and the schools, which, together with the European Historical Archives / European University Institute, are taking part in an in-depth programme on the history and current affairs of the European Union.
