Infringement proceedings against Italy are reduced to 80 after the European Commission decided on 28 September to close 4 infringements.
These are four failures to transpose two European Directives, which concern:
- prudential supervision of investment firms
- markets in financial instruments
- issuance and public supervision of covered bonds
- consumer protection
The European Commission has also decided to adopt a reasoned opinion under Article 258 TFEU.
The 80 infringements against our country were opened for violation of EU law (63) or for failure to transpose directives (17).
The environment with 15 cases is the highest incidence of infringements, followed by economic and financial affairs (10) and transport (8).
