The inaugural meeting of the Scientific Committee for the Future of Europe, chaired by Professor Paola Severino and Ambassador Ferdinando Nelli Feroci, was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The Committee is entrusted with the coordination of the planning, preparation and organisation of interventions aimed at ensuring concrete implementation to Italy's participation in the Conference on the Future of Europe.

After an initial greeting by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Luigi Di Maio, and the Undersecretary of State for European Affairs, Vincenzo Amendola, the members of the Committee discussed the state of play of the Conference, the planning of the next activities to be carried out at national level and the organisation of these activities into thematic groups.
