Giuseppe Conte’s government gets the Italian Parliament’s confidence vote

After submitting his political program to the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte obtained the confidence of the Parliament. With his team, he had taken oath before the President of the Republic last Sept. 5

New Government

On 5 September 2019, the members of the new Government, chaired by Giuseppe Conte, took the oath at the presence of the President of the Republic. After the oath, the first Council of Ministers appointed Ministers without portfolio. Among them, Vincenzo Amendola is the new Minister for European Affairs.

Senate approves European Delegation Act 2018

By 144 votes to 10 with 79 abstentions, the Senate today approved the draft law delegating the transposition of European directives and the implementation of other acts of the European Union — European Delegation Act 2018 — to the Government. The text now has to go back to the Chamber.

Italy, President Mattarella accepts resignation of Minister for EU policies

The President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella has signed the presidential decree accepting Professor Paolo Savona’s resignation from the office of Minister without portfolio.

The Council of Ministers has appointed 45 State Secretaries. Luciano Barra Caracciolo is the new State Secretary for European Affairs.

The new Government

On 1th june 2018, the new Government led by Giuseppe Conte took the oath before the President of the Republic. The Gentiloni Government, in charge since 12th December 2016, thus comes to an end. The Ministers without portfolio have been appointed, and Paolo Savona was entrusted with European Affairs.
