Conference on the Future of Europe, event at the Auditorium in Rome

The Department for European Policies, in collaboration with the European Parliament and the European Commission, is organising the national event dedicated to the multilingual platform of the Conference on the Future of Europe. The event will take place at the ‘Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome on 9 December, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., introduced by actor Ettore Bassi, who will recite a text on Europe, followed by the performance of the Ode to Joy by violinist Leonardo Mazzarotto.

The first working session will include keynote speeches by:

  • Luigi Di Maio, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation,
  • Vincenzo Amendola, Undersecretary of State for European Affairs,
  • Antonio Tajani, Member of the European Parliament, President of the Commission for Constitutional Affairs of the European Parliament,
  • Augusta Montaruli, Member of the European Parliament, representative of the Chamber of Deputies at the Conference on the Future of Europe, Working Group on Migration,
  • Paola Severino, Citizens' Representative for the Conference on the Future of Europe.

Moderator: Serena Scorzoni, RAI journalist.

The communication campaign dedicated to the Conference on the Future of Europe promoted by the Department for European Policies will be presented upon conclusion of the first session.

This will be followed by a discussion session with students, moderated by journalist Serena Scorzoni, on the themes of the Conference on the Future of Europe. Participants include:

  • Vincenzo Amendola, Undersecretary of State for European Affairs,
  • Benedetto Della Vedova, Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation,
  • Alessandro Alfieri, Senator, Senate representative at the Conference on the Future of Europe, Co-Chair of the Working Group on Migration,
  • Matteo Luigi Bianchi, Member of Parliament, Representative of the Chamber of Deputies at the Conference on the Future of Europe, Working Group on Education, Culture, Youth and Sport,
  • Ferdinando Nelli Feroci, Co-Chair of the Scientific Committee of the Conference on the Future of Europe.

Keynote Speakers:

  • Antonio Parenti, Director of the European Commission Representation in Italy,
  • Chiara Alicandro, member of the team of 80 Europeans representing citizens within the plenary session of the Conference on the Future of Europe.
