France, Germany, Italy and Slovakia: a new European Agenda for Migration

17 aprile 2015

Vertice internazionale a CesenaThe Ministers for European Affairs of France, Germany, Italy and Slovakia, meeting in Cesena to discuss the new challenges for the EU, issued the following declaration.

The last tragic events in the Mediterranean, with the loss of hundreds of lives in shipwrecks of migrant boats, call for a strong and common reaction from Europe.

We express our sorrow for the loss of lives and call for a strong action to fight the criminal networks taking advantage of desperate people that want to reach Europe.

This tragedy concerns Europe as a whole and calls for a resolute European answer.

It shows the urgency to develop a common and coherent European migration policy, addressing issues of border control, stability and development of countries of origin and transit. These issues must be reflected in the new European Agenda for Migration. ‎
