This morning took place at Palazzo Chigi, the Interministerial Committee for European Affairs (CIAE), chaired by the President of the Council, Giuseppe Conte, and convened by the Minister for European Affairs, Vincenzo Amendola.
The Committee agreed on the guidelines for the definition of the National Reform and Resilience Plan (PNRR). The document sets out the challenges, missions and actions of the plan for the Italian reform to be financed through the EU Next Generation Fund, with the aim of achieving the twin green and digital transition in Italy and Europe and increasing competitiveness, social inclusion and economic growth after the pandemic crisis COVID-19.
The guidelines will allow for a detailed discussion with the Italian Parliament and the European Commission in order to present the NRP as of January 2021, in line with the timetable set by the EU. “We will not waste a historic opportunity to relaunch our country”, said Minister Amendments at the end of the meeting.
The CIAE also discussed the Future of Europe Conference and the forthcoming presentation of the new European Pact on Migration and Asylum.
